The Tick midgets are characters on the animated television series The Tick. They are small versions of the Tick, with the letter D emblazoned on their chests (standing for "Defense mechanism").
History[]
When Tick, along the path of his spiritual journey, finally reached his self-image, which could answer one (and only one) question, his mind tried to cheat, and get two questions answered. Because of this, his self-image released the Tick midgets to punish them. Brandishing fish, they chased Tick and his mind until the duo escaped through a door to the Escalator of Enlightenment.

- The term "midget" has since become more widely-understood to be offensive to little people. Presumably, the Tick did not intend to use the term maliciously.
