Mel Mental, better known as Mr. Mental, is a character and supervillain on the animated television series The Tick.
History[]
Mental is a psychic who sought to enhance his powers with the Thinking Cap, so he invited the Tick and Arthur to the Evil Eye Café where he was performing, and planted a hypnotic seed in Tick's mind. He later used it to make Tick steal the Thinking Cap, and he was successful, but the cap was stolen back shortly.
He returned, this time hypnotizing those around him into thinking he was a bay, and leaving himself on Tick and Arthur's doorstep. Tick and Arthur took him in, but Arthur caught on and foiled his plans once again.
Personality[]
He is very confident in his abilities, and has an uncontrollable ambition to rule the world, pushing away those around him in the process. He is also very short tempered and very irritable. He also is somewhat bitter towards his assistant (and hinted girlfriend/wife), Minda, due to her lack of support of his ambition.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Mental Powers: he possesses a variety of mental powers.
- Telepathy: he has the ability to read others' minds.
- Mind Control: he can hypnotize individual without any assistance from items such as pendulums.
