The Idea Men are a group of characters on the animated television series The Tick.
The Idea Men wear matching grey suits with white neckties and gloves. They wear masks with built-in goggles.
History[]
The Idea Men were ordinary, working-class citizens, until they got the idea to disguise themselves and steal a lot of money, so that they wouldn't have to work anymore. Their crime wave comes to an end, however, when the The Tick arrives at The City and throws a wrench into their plans. They plan one last caper: to plant a bomb in the City Dam and charge The City a massive ransom. The Tick foils their plan with some aid from Big Shot. Whether or not they were apprehended is unknown.
Some Idea Men appear at the auction for The Tick held by Charles, where their blimp is destroyed once again (this time by American Maid). It is not clear if these are any of the same people who participated in their earlier scheme.
Paraphernalia[]
- Masks: to disguise themselves the Idea Men wear masks, which also disguise their speech to the point that nobody can understand them.
- Machine Guns: they also have an unknown number of Thompson machine guns, which they use to rob establishments.
- Blimp: for transport, they use a personalized dirigible. It was destroyed during their escape of the City Dam, which they'd planted a bomb in (that very bomb, carried atop the dam, ended up destroying the blimp), but they later had one at Charles' auction of Tick.
